Thorium.

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

http://ThoriumRemix.com/ Thorium is an abundant material which can be transformed into massive quantities of energy. To do so efficiently requires a very different nuclear reactor than the kind we use today- Not one that uses solid fuel rods, but a reactor in which the fuel is kept in a liquid state. Not one that uses pressurized water as a coolant, but a reactor that uses chemically stable molten salts. Such a reactor is called a "Molten Salt Reactor". Many different configurations are possible. Some of these configurations can harness Thorium very efficiently. This video explores the attributes of Molten Salt Reactors. Why are they compelling? And why do many people (including myself) see them as the only economical way of fully harnessing ALL our nuclear fuels... including Thorium. This video has been under development since 2012. I hope it conveys to you why I personally find Molten Salt Reactors so compelling, as do the many volunteers and supporters who helped create it. Much of the footage was shot by volunteers. 1. More photon = more potato
  2. If the Africans are given clean water they will simply grow in numbers until they destroy their environment. Unlike other races, they grow in number up to the Malthusian limit:

  3. Not a single person watched this through
  4. How much does it cost to build and run a MSR and how much energy does one put out? Theres plenty of claims about cheap energy but they said that about nuclear first time around. They sound safe, im convinced about that, but havent heard much about what makes these cheap, if they are cheap.
  5. Super Video - thanks Gordon McDowell, John Kutsch, Capt Kirk and All!
  6. This video is pure GOLD. Thanks for this amazing job, it really shows tons of working hours on it.
  7. Dr Tyson !! see ya
  8. thanks Gordon. Just saw "end of thorium" and an update of Indian reactor progress. Since we had already built an operating thorium liquid salt reactor in the 1950s my expectations for progress and rapid development were unrealistic. Still very convinced of thorium future.
  9. This is an excellent production, highly recommended viewing for any one with an interest in science. I don't suppose a vitreous or graphite liner would help.
  10. thorium. the element i want to study at school. xD
  11. Gordon, please send a 5-minute video to Trump. Follow up with a letter with what's needed to get a MSR up and working.
  12. Dude, you have the idea. I hope more people get infected.
  13. Why dick around with thorium? Just go for the gold and invest everything in fusion.
  14. I love ideas. Theory is cheap; like the electricity that would follow, in theory. Where are working 1 and 2 megawatts demo reactors the Chinese were going to have on line by 2015 and 2017? All I am seeing is the same recycled thorium theoretics. And the Indians; they too have been trying to build demo reactors because they have the worlds great supply of thorium and little uranium. soooo, where's the beef?
  15. 6 f* k*ng hours mate...and you think that is digestible to a random average joe??? cut it into chunks even if that is is life saving..... who can retain that amount of data????
    honest....
  16. someone should mug Dr. Lyons in the parking lot of the shopping mall, - & then not steal his wallet....
  17. Nice. But seriously; If anyone can't see why thorium was abandoned & is intentionally ignored, then they must be trying real hard to NOT see it. I'm happy that this was addressed as well in this video (2:05:00 Onward) - luckily, it's likely to happen soon anyway - regardless of that very obvious reason. : - )
  18. Too bad it's already too late - we have already triggered Abrupt Climate Change, and nothing will prevent near-term human extinction now. Oh well...
  19. 1:04:12 is interesting
  20. Thank you so much for this "eye" opener, it seems that our politicians are leading us to destruction because they are controlled by big oil big banks and other institutions hell bent on making money for the 1 %.
