  18. There's a LOT more to the Venus Project than just the architecture and engineering, it proposes nothing less then the radical restructuring of Human society.

Leaving out energy from Sol, the Earth is a closed system, and most resources are finite. Those resources are too important for the survival of a balanced diversified global ecology to leave them controlled by the highest bidder.

The economy will not be besed on money. The economy will be resource-based. Politicians will not be needed. No politician has ever solved a technical problem. No lawyer has ever solved a technical problem. No Rabbi, or Imam, or Priest, or Shaman, has ever solved a technical problem. Scientists and Engineers solve technical problems.

Scientists and Engineers will build the transportation systems, the power grids, the habitats, the farms, the factories for clothing, tools, household items, etc. which are not created by artisans. People won't need to own things, except for clothing and personal items. Each household does not need to have a scroll saw, or bulb planter, or easel. If you need something like that, you go and sign it out, and take it back when you are through.

So billions of people are not enslaved at subsistence level wages making endless copies of things that just are not needed every day. People will be liberated from labor, thanks to technology and massive computing systems which control the production of necessities, freeing people to pursue whatever they wish.

    WATCH the Venus Project vids.
