Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Jack Frank's documentary exploring the exceptional art deco architecture around Tulsa. Boston Avenue Methodist Church, Fairgrounds Pavilion, Fire Aalarm Building, Westhope house (Frank Lloyd Wright), Warehouse Market. They're all in here. And lots of other fun stuff.

  1. Thank you for this great video!
  2. Sadly in the 1960's Tulsa destroyed many buildings in the downtown area. Not all were art deco, but a lot of them were. The idea was to spur economic growth, but it had a negative impact. I think we learned our lesson because over the last few years, Tulsa's downtown has seen huge growth and many abandoned buildings were remodeled instead of torn down.
  3. I remember being a kid and living in Tulsa and knew there was something great about the cities look

  8. man I'd like to go see that, -Thanks.
  9. Very interesting. This is the first I've heard of Tulsa's Art Deco architecture. Somehow Miami Beach has done a much better job of promoting its Art Deco heritage. Perhaps because its economy is so much more tourist oriented.
