Alameda is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay area. It’s home to the corporate headquarters of North Face, Natel Energy, & Penumbra, Inc. – among many others. The city is in the midst of a major redevelopment project – Alameda Point – a former naval air station which offers an incredible skyline view of San Francisco. The area is quickly becoming home to a host of companies – especially tech start-ups. In addition to having an impressive roster of companies with great work opportunities – Alameda also has thriving neighborhoods with beautifully maintained Victorian houses.   1. I used to live there in the 80s as a kid when the Naval Air Station was still active. I had the pleasure of revisiting Alameda this past month when I was there on a business trip and was surprised how wonderful it had become. It actually got me really thinking about moving there. I loved it.
