Uplifting tour at Hamburg Airport (HAM) AirportPlaza, Germany

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

The AirportPlaza is a big terminal-like building between Terminal 1 and 2 and it features the same sort of architecture. It has been built in 2006-2008. All elevators here are KONE EcoDiscs with an individual Hamburg Airport design. It looks pretty nice and futuristic and adds a lot of character to this place. Half of the building is landside, half of it is airside. Five elevators are accessible for everyone, six elevators are airside and can only be reached with a ticket for a flight (four of them are in fact staff-only, can be called, but the floors are locked). AirportPlaza features the security check. Since this building has been finished, the entire security zone has been arranged here which is quite convenient and easy to understand. There is even another airside elevator built as part of AirportPlaza, it is however, situated in the apron area. That one is locked off similar to the landside service elevator, but it is smaller. I haven't yet been riding that one.. 2. scenic elevators are best.
  3. how do you make the chart over the lifts? i've always wondered, as beno and heritage elevators does that (as for what i see)
