What is the role of the architect today? | Dimitrios Sotiropoulos | TEDxBathUniversity

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Dimitrios’s talk reflects on the role of the architect in contemporary society. He discusses the socio-political dimension of architecture and he calls on architects to become thinkers of much bigger scale than that of the building. The city can thereby become the field of architecture, while the street can form the element that holds the urban fabric together. Dimitrios Sotiropoulos is a registered architect in the UK and Netherlands, as well as a Bath alumnus. He attaches sociopolitical depth to the discipline of architecture, and challenges the traditional urban logic. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

  1. Too bad we still haven't learned that on the long run is always better to collaborate and acknowledge our inspirations. What will happen when this guy will actually have to walk his talk and give solutions from his supposedly personal study? Will he go back to stealing info from people that actually research what he is presenting as his own work? It's such a shame this things still happen on a higher note such as Delft Technical University.
