Dimitrios’s talk reflects on the role of the architect in contemporary society. He discusses the socio-political dimension of architecture and he calls on architects to become thinkers of much bigger scale than that of the building. The city can thereby become the field of architecture, while the street can form the element that holds the urban fabric together. Dimitrios Sotiropoulos is a registered architect in the UK and Netherlands, as well as a Bath alumnus. He attaches sociopolitical depth to the discipline of architecture, and challenges the traditional urban logic. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
