Why is Modern Art so Bad?

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

For two millennia, great artists set the standard for beauty. Now those standards are gone. Modern art is a competition between the ugly and the twisted; the most shocking wins. What happened? How did the beautiful come to be reviled and bad taste come to be celebrated? Renowned artist Robert Florczak explains the history and the mystery behind this change and how it can be stopped and even reversed. 1. As an artist, I can relate and appreciate this... I actually want people to see what I am trying to convey
  2. 13k "artist" who have bad taste disliked this
  3. Let me guess, it's the cultural Marxist Frankfurt school Alinsky globalist cuckspiracy?

    HoW diD i kNoWw
  4. this is the thing that triggers me the most in the universe tbh
  5. If someone considers something to be art, then it is art. The arts are constantly changing, and it is not getting worse or better - just different.

I can guarantee that in 200 years, "modern art" will have become the new traditional art, and people will fight to keep it the same as some new style begins to emerge.
  6. If a monkey, elephant, or three year-old can do it...it's not art!!! However, I admit that I must be an ultra art conservative because I don't even care for the likes of Monet or Van Gogh...too blotchy for my tastes.
  7. From the clothes on his back, to the music we listen to, to the cars we drive and the gadgets we use; many things we take granted are somehow linked to the pioneers of modern art like Picasso and Warhol. Its those artists and more who drove society to think outside the box.
  8. Well damn if all i had to do was paint a canvas a solid color i guess i should just drop out and become a modern artist
  9. Lol, you're really angry at modern art, aren't you?
  10. I heard of a painting in Vienna (where i live), which is a simple white canvas with a blue point in the middle.

That was considered art. I was utterly dumbfounded. I grew up by valueing the works of Da Vinci and Michelangelo (I saw his famous fresco in the Sistine Chapel). Now I can haul a rock and call it art.

I must be in a bad dream.
  11. There is bigger problems....
  12. I could rework my plumbing to flow into a bucket as an exhibition in a modern art museum and probably make money. My sewage, which they would likely pay ME for, is "revolutionary" and "making a statement."
  13. I was looking at some art at school one of the peices was a metal can with newspaper stuck on it, so i said. "that's not art" they replied anything is art if the owner says it is.

    WHAT THE HECK
  14. This video is missing an important point... plenty of art was bad in ANY era. There's a lot of mediocre talent creating a lot of mediocre art in any time period. The same is true for music as well - it's not that music was so much better in the past, it's that we only remember the good stuff and forget all of the garbage. Eventually we start thinking that the past ONLY had the good stuff, which is wrong.

However, there are more artists today than in the past, so that means more bad art. And yeah, throwing splotches on a canvas and leaving it up to the viewers' interpretation is nonsense, that's another drawback that didn't exist in the past. Still, there are some masterpieces still being created today. They just aren't world famous yet.
  15. Dont you just want to rest your eyes upon an white canvas after getting flooded with so many realist paintings nowadays
  16. hey, get that intelligent, articulate guy out of the way; he's blocking my view of that magnificent, expressive, oh-so-meaningful, all-white painting! don't you wish you were pompous, pretentious, & smart like me so that you could appreciate such vacuous works? yeah, it's tough & lonely being one of the few elite intellectual geniuses who can see what the common, unwashed, uncultured, uneducated masses are simply incapable of comprehending, but someone's gotta do it. 🤓
  17. 13,485 people are delusion, pretentious cunts.
  18. What about banksy? Is he shit because he makes statements with graffiti. Even though there is evident artistic effort and value.
  19. Thanks for this, being part of the artistic world myself, I know how much courage it takes to make a video like this.
  20. wanna hear some good music? turn that MTV off, turn off those popular radio stations, go deep into the underground and look for it masses are fed of shit and think that this shit is good... i think same goes to art
