Educators often emphasize Wikipedia's negatives. Due to its user-generated content and editable pages, Wikipedia can certainly be a questionable source. But Wikipedia isn't all bad, we promise. Michele Van Hoeck, Instruction Librarian at California State University Maritime, will discuss her experience with students in her credit-bearing information literacy class who contributed to Wikipedia as part of Wikimedia's U.S. Education program. Michele will talk about using Wikipedia to engage with students, not only in using information, but creating it as well.
